distinguished guests Ladies, Gentlemen, Let me begin by congratulating the authorities and people of the UAE on the celebration of the fifty years since the creation of the State, as a result of the unification of several Emirates. The successes achieved in these five decades confirm that the union is strength and that the founding leaders had the wisdom and vision to correctly invest oil revenues, making the desert a modern and developed country that attracts investors and tourists from all over the world. . Our congratulations also go to the organizers of Expo-2020 Dubai, for having managed to hold this magnificent event that highlights, in the eyes of the whole world, the entrepreneurial, organizational and achievement capacity of the people of the United Arab Emirates. I am here today in this space, where cultures, knowledge, experiences and knowledge of the different peoples of our planet converge, in order to celebrate Angola’s national day at Expo Dubai 2020, and witness, on behalf of all Angolans, the capacity characteristic of us, highlighted with particular creativity in our pavilion.
The determination to show the world that we are a people suited to overcome, overcome obstacles and move forward is evident in our facilities, even when faced with adverse circumstances, such as those imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic on us and on the whole world. . Expo-2020 Dubai chose the theme “Connecting the World and Building the Future”, around which events in the cultural, scientific, technological and innovation fields take place. In all of this, we observe the active role of Angolans in general, but of young people in particular, for having known how to be the preponderant active force in the construction of the present and the future, for the relationship they establish with new technologies, fundamental tools in the process of construction of bridges between the strong values of our tradition and those of modernity. Excellencies, Building a future of development and well-being in our country calls us to the need to preserve the environment, in order to contribute to the sustainability of our planet. This city in Dubai is a positive example of the healthy coexistence between the past and the future, the traditional and the modern, always with a focus on sustainable development.
